Former Soldier Sentenced to Life in Prison for Child Sexual Abuse in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga.—A former Army soldier has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted on charges of child sexual abuse and attempted child pornography production, according to U.S. Attorney Margaret E. Heap.
Cedrick Demon Robinson, 42, of Oxford, Mississippi, was found guilty by a jury in the Southern District of Georgia of Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child and Attempted Production of a Visual Depiction of a Minor Engaging in Sexually Explicit Conduct. On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, U.S. District Court Chief Judge R. Stan Baker sentenced Robinson to life in prison, along with a $50,000 fine and $10,200 in special assessments.
According to testimony presented in court, Robinson sexually abused a nine-year-old child in December 2013. In 2017, he requested a sexually explicit photograph from another child, who was 15 years old at the time.
U.S. Attorney Heap stated that protecting children from predators is one of the district’s highest priorities. The case was investigated by the Army Criminal Investigation Division at Fort Stewart and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael Z. Spitulnik and Darron J. Hubbard.
