Richmond County Deputies Arrest Woman After Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Into Columbia County

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. – On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol units responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at 1350 Walton Way.

Deputy Dakota Clark spotted the vehicle traveling on Wrightsboro Road and initiated a traffic stop after requesting backup. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit through Richmond County into Columbia County along Washington Road.

The chase ended at the Raceway at Stevens Creek and Washington Road, where the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Amber Nelson, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended without incident.

There were no injuries or property damage reported. Nelson was transported to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. The Georgia State Patrol and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the pursuit, ensuring a safe resolution.
