Four men were arrested Saturday afternoon, July 26, 2025, following a shoplifting incident involving firearms and ammunition at Academy Sports on Canal Crossing. The arrests stem from a coordinated response by the Glynn County Police Department after officers received a report of suspicious activity around 12:52 p.m.

According to police, store employees reported several men shoplifting ammunition and other tactical items. A witness also reported seeing what appeared to be an assault-style rifle in the backseat of a silver car the suspects used to flee the scene.

  • A Glock 23 .40 caliber handgun (confirmed stolen through NCIC/GCIC from Westminster Club Apartments in April 2025)
  • A Taurus G2C 9mm handgun with an extended 30-round magazine

In addition to the firearms, officers recovered the following items:

  • Stolen ammunition
  • A Magpul rifle foregrip, also reported stolen
  • Marijuana
  • An AR-15 magazine

Further search of the suspects resulted in the discovery of a fully loaded American Tactical AR-15 rifle concealed on one of the passengers, later identified as 21-year-old Jadon Lewis Lablanc.

Detectives from the Glynn County Criminal Investigations Division (CID) assisted in interviewing the suspects. All four were transported to the Glynn County Police Department and are now facing the following charges:
