High-Speed Chase on I-75 Ends in Arrest of Fairburn Man in Turner County

On the morning of Wednesday, July 2nd, just before 9:30 A.M., a deputy with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a white Chevrolet Malibu for speeding at 97 mph in a 70 mph zone near mile marker 100 on Interstate 75.
The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Curtis Core of Fairburn, Georgia, failed to yield and accelerated, reaching speeds over 100 mph. A pursuit was initiated and continued into neighboring Turner County.
The pursuit concluded safely with assistance from the Georgia State Patrol and the Turner County Sheriff’s Office. Curtis Core was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Crisp County Jail.
The case remains under investigation, and charges against Core are pending.
