Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit Nabs Suspected Dealer, Seizes Meth and Marijuana

The Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit executed a search warrant on June 24, 2025, at a residence located at 412 Waldron Road, leading to the arrest of Joseph Keith Darsey, also known as “Skeeter.” The warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected illegal drug activity.
During the search, deputies discovered quantities of substances believed to be methamphetamine and marijuana inside the home. As a result, Darsey was taken into custody at the scene.
Darsey now faces charges of:
- Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute
- Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
Chief Brannen Pruette affirmed the unit’s commitment: “The Douglas Coffee Drug Unit continues to operate with precision and purpose in targeting individuals who choose to distribute illegal narcotics in our community. We will not tolerate this kind of criminal activity.”
Sheriff Fred Cole added, “This recent arrest is the result of strong collaboration and shared dedication to public safety. We will continue to work together to protect the citizens of Coffee County and the City of Douglas through proactive enforcement and partnership.”
