Girls Dig Deeper Initiative Feeds 110 Families at Macon-Bibb Food Distribution

On Saturday, June 21, the Girls Dig Deeper Initiative (GDDI) hosted a food distribution event at the Bloomfield-Gilead Recreation Center, successfully providing meals to 110 families in the Macon-Bibb area.
The effort was made possible through a partnership with the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank, which supplied items including canned fruit, vegetables, beans, soup, and crackers. Boys from the Ambitious Young Men Program assisted with the distribution.
“I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to provide this opportunity for many families in Macon-Bibb,” said GDDI Founder Najiva Timothee. “People were so grateful for the food we provided.”
A second distribution event is planned for Saturday, July 12, again at the Bloomfield-Gilead Recreation Center, located at 1931 Rocky Creek Road. The time is still to be determined.
GDDI, supported by funding from the Community Foundation of Central Georgia and Georgia Power, offers a range of programs focused on mentorship, wellness, leadership, and youth development for teen girls across the region.
