Negotiations Lead to Arrest in Crisp County After Terroristic Threats

A local business was placed on lockdown this morning in Crisp County after a disturbance involving terroristic threats, leading to the apprehension of a suspect following a two-and-a-half-hour negotiation.
The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and the Special Response Team (SRT) were dispatched to locate the suspect, identified as Demeatrice Hardeman. He was ultimately located at a residence on the north side of Crisp County.
After approximately two and a half hours of phone conversations and negotiations, Hardeman attempted to flee the residence in a vehicle. Just before noon today, he was apprehended during a traffic stop at the intersection of Hwy 41 and Truckers Route. A weapon was discovered in the vehicle with Hardeman.
Demeatrice Hardeman, 40, of Cordele, GA, faces the following charges:
- Two counts of Terroristic Threats and Acts
- Robbery
- Simple Assault
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
