Two Convicted of Murder in Deadly Robbery Plot That Targeted DeKalb Business Owner

Two men have been convicted in the 2019 murder of Sukkee Hong, a 55-year-old DeKalb County business owner who was followed to his Sugar Hill home and fatally shot during a planned robbery.
On Friday, March 28, 2025, a Gwinnett County jury found 37-year-old Daquan Rashad Clarke and 44-year-old Troy Anthony Hunt guilty of two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and four counts of violating Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. Hunt was additionally convicted of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Sentencing will occur at a later date.
Prosecutors said Clarke, Hunt, and Ian Jabar Longshore—who died in jail in 2021—were members of the “Goodfellas” gang and had targeted Hong’s business, TME Check Cashing, as part of a robbery plan. On October 4, 2019, the men and a fourth unidentified individual followed Hong from his business to his residence. Hunt and another assailant entered Hong’s garage while Clarke and Longshore waited in getaway vehicles.
Surveillance video presented at trial captured the masked suspects fleeing after gunfire. Investigators tied mobile phone data and DNA evidence to Clarke and Hunt. The group stole documents and Hong’s cell phone before fleeing.
Subriccia S. Moss, Clarke’s girlfriend, testified she bought a tracking device online and planted it on Hong’s vehicle after distracting him inside his store. Moss also acted as a lookout on the day of the murder. She previously pleaded guilty to armed robbery and aggravated assault and was sentenced to 15 years in prison with five years probation.
The fourth suspect remains unidentified and has not been located.
The case was prosecuted by Managing ADA Ryan Smith and ADA Lindsey Share of the DA’s Drug and Gangs Task Force with assistance from DGTF investigators, the Gwinnett County Police Department, FBI, and Medical Examiner Dr. Carol Terry.
