Guns, Meth, and Digital Scales Seized in Ben Hill County Drug Bust Near Schools

Two individuals were arrested on Friday, May 9, 2025, following an undercover narcotics operation conducted by the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division at a residence near local schools.
Deputies and agents executed a search warrant at 199 Deer Wood Drive in Fitzgerald, leading to the seizure of four AR-15 rifles, four semi-automatic handguns, five electronic digital scales, approximately one ounce of crystal methamphetamine, and multiple drug-related objects.
The suspects were taken into custody at the scene. Charges against them include Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of a School and 1,000 feet of a Playground.
The operation was conducted near Ben Hill County Primary and Middle Schools. The Sheriff’s Office urges residents to report any illegal activity, emphasizing that all tips will remain confidential.
