Teen Killed in Vineville Street Shooting in Columbus
Columbus Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Vineville Street.
Responding officers found a male victim, later identified as 17-year-old David Escobar, suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS personnel arrived but were unable to revive him. Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Allison pronounced Escobar deceased at the scene at 6:13 p.m.
The Violent Crimes Unit of the Columbus Police Department is leading the investigation.
