Pedestrian Killed in Richmond County Hit-and-Run; Driver Apprehended After Fleeing

A female pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident on Monday afternoon.

On Monday, May 12, 2025, at approximately 2:08 pm, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a hit-and-run on the southbound side of the 3600 Block of Windsor Spring Road and Cross Creek Road in Hephzibah, GA.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered a female pedestrian lying in the roadway. The Richmond County Coroner’s Office pronounced the female victim deceased at the location.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision reportedly parked their car at Richmond County Fire Department Station 18 and then attempted to flee on foot. However, the driver was quickly apprehended by authorities.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the incident. At this time, no further information regarding the victim or the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run has been released.
