Teen Arrested in Connection with Marietta Parkway Double Shooting

Seventeen-year-old Xavier Ivan Moreno of Marietta was arrested early Thursday morning, May 1, by the Marietta SWAT team in connection with an April 21 shooting near the intersection of North Marietta Parkway and Allgood Road that left two individuals injured.
According to police, warrant 25-W-3533 charges Moreno with eleven felonies and three misdemeanors, including:
- Nine counts of Aggravated Assault with Intent to Murder (Felony)
- One count of Criminal Damage in the Second Degree (Felony)
- Two counts of Criminal Trespass Damage (Misdemeanor)
- One count of Possession of a Pistol by a Minor (Misdemeanor)
- One count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (Felony)
Moreno was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
The shooting occurred around 1:24 p.m. on April 21. Officers initially responded to Roosevelt Circle for a report of a person shot and were then redirected to a second nearby victim. One was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, and the other to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, both with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
