Four Arrested After Two Drug Raids in Toccoa; Nearly 275 Lethal Doses of Fentanyl Seized

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit (CSU), assisted by the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) and Toccoa Police Department, executed two search warrants that resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl, firearms, and drug paraphernalia.
The operation stemmed from tips received earlier this year about 32-year-old Dazmon Steeple of Toccoa allegedly distributing illegal narcotics. Following an investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for his residence on Davis Avenue.
At approximately 6:00 a.m., officers conducted a search of the Davis Avenue home, where they found a quantity of fentanyl and drug-related items indicating extensive drug use. Neither Steeple nor his girlfriend, 22-year-old Meyghan Smith of Toccoa, were at the residence during the search.
That afternoon, authorities located the couple at Jessica Myers’ residence on Ridgecrest Road. Myers, 41, was pulled over on North Broad Street near West Doyle Street in reference to traffic violations. She was found to be on felony probation with a 4th Amendment waiver. Deputies discovered drug-related items on Myers and took her into custody.
When investigators moved to secure Myers’ home, they found Steeple, Smith, and a fourth individual—Carnarius Rucker, 34, also of Toccoa—inside. Rucker was in possession of drug-related items and was also taken into custody.
A second search warrant for the Ridgecrest Road residence led to the discovery of methamphetamine, fentanyl, drug packaging materials, burnt foil with residue, two firearms, and further evidence of drug activity.
During booking at the Stephens County Jail, a hidden baggie of suspected fentanyl was found on Myers. The substance weighed approximately .55 grams, which equates to nearly 275 potentially lethal doses, according to the DEA.
