Former School Bus Driver Arrested for Grooming Minors in Murray County

Kenneth James Knight, of Whitfield County, was arrested on April 29th, 2025, and charged with three counts of Grooming of a Minor for a Sexual Offense (OCGA 16-12-100.5). The arrest followed an investigation into unprofessional conduct reported against Knight, a Murray County School Bus Driver.
The investigation began on April 23rd after a complaint was brought to the attention of School Resource Officers. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Region One was requested to assist, and Knight was terminated from his position on April 24th.
Continued investigation and interviews by the GBI and the Murray County Sheriff’s Office led to Knight’s arrest. He is currently being held in the Murray County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
The GBI is the lead agency in this ongoing investigation, with the Murray County Sheriff’s Office assisting. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the GBI Region One Office or the Murray County Sheriff’s Office.
