Fatal Shooting in Camden County Community, Child Injured

On Sunday afternoon, April 27th, a shooting incident in the Deerwood Village community off Harrietts Bluff Road resulted in the death of an adult male and injury to a young child.

At approximately 12:59 PM, the Camden County 911 Center received a call reporting a man shot in the roadway within Deerwood Village. Deputies arriving at the scene found the adult male with multiple gunshot wounds. A small child present also suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. The child was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The adult male, critically injured, was transported to Camden Medical Center but died from his injuries.

Currently, no suspects are in custody, and investigators are actively gathering information. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation, and authorities state that no conclusions will be made until the investigation is complete. They assure the public that there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Kingsland Police Department and the St. Marys Police Department for their prompt assistance at the scene. They emphasize that the investigation is active and ongoing and ask for the public’s patience and understanding as they work to determine the facts.
