The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the assault of a 21-year-old male inmate that occurred on April 15, 2025, at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

The inmate reported the assault to deputies on April 19, 2025, stating that he had been injured by other inmates. He reportedly did not disclose his injuries during block checks in the intervening days.

After reporting the incident, the inmate was escorted to the medical unit for treatment and subsequently transported to a hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention.

Investigators have determined that the inmate was injured when hot water was thrown onto his face through the cell door. They are currently working to identify the inmates involved in the assault.

Authorities have stated that the injured inmate is in stable condition. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
