Wanted Man Successfully Captured After Escaping Custody in Bibb County

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 34-year-old Drickis Keon McCree on Monday, March 24, after he escaped custody earlier that day from Atrium Hospital. Deputies located McCree in the area of Madison Street and Walnut Street just before 7:00 p.m. and took him into custody without incident.
Earlier in the day, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office had issued a public alert seeking help in locating McCree, who had fled while being treated at the hospital around 4:01 p.m. McCree had been arrested two days earlier on Saturday, March 22, 2025, on charges of Felony Theft by Shoplifting and Obstruction of a law enforcement officer at the Wal-Mart on 1401 Gray Highway.
In addition to the charges stemming from his arrest, McCree is wanted on further charges of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Aggravated Assault with Attempted Rape.
Authorities had warned that McCree is considered a danger due to his violent tendencies. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center following his arrest.
