Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Varnell; Two Arrested on Multiple Charges

On March 11, 2025, a vehicle pursuit involving the Murray County Sheriff’s Office ended in Varnell with the arrest of two individuals. Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a 2012 black Dodge Ram at the intersection of Hwy 76 and Hwy 225, suspecting the driver was a wanted individual. When the vehicle failed to stop and sped off, the pursuit continued into Whitfield County.

The vehicle collided with another car just before Varnell Main Street. The occupants, Arnulfo Dimas and Emmanuel Jacobo, both of Chatsworth, attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended.

Both men face multiple charges, including:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Fleeing
  • No Insurance
  • Crossing Guard Lines with Weapons/Drugs/Intoxicants
  • Reckless Driving
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of Drug-Related Objects.

The Murray County Sheriff’s Office thanked the assisting agencies for their support during the pursuit and arrests.
