Murder Suspect Arrested in Macon After Attempting to Flee

On March 12, 2025, U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force members, assisted by Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies, arrested Johnquavis Leonardo Rutledge in the 300 block of Pursley Street.

Rutledge attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. He sustained a leg injury during the incident and was taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Rutledge was wanted in connection to the death of 20-year-old Gabreon Tyrese Harrison, which occurred on August 1, 2024, in the 2400 block of Holland Drive. Authorities had been searching for Rutledge since September 2024 when Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators requested the public’s help in locating him.

On March 14, 2025, at noon, Rutledge was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He has been charged with murder and is being held without bond.
