Hart County Man Arrested for Trafficking Minor for Sexual Servitude

Reed Skelton, 26, of Hart County, has been arrested and charged with Trafficking of Persons for Sexual Servitude by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
The Hart County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI to investigate a human trafficking case that originated in Fulton County, Georgia.
The investigation revealed that in the fall of 2024, Skelton communicated with a minor through social media. Skelton traveled from Hart County to Fulton County to meet the minor. He then took the minor to a hotel in Fulton County and paid for sexual acts.
Skelton was arrested in Hall County and booked into the Hall County Jail.
The GBI HEAT Unit, along with state and local partners, investigates human trafficking cases throughout Georgia. This case involved multi-jurisdictional cooperation among the GBI, Cobb County Police Department, Hart County Sheriff’s Office, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Gainesville Police Department, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, and the Georgia Attorney General’s Office.
