Lee County Jury Convicts Woman of Murder in 2022 Fatal Shooting

A Lee County jury found Carlistra Dee Tennille guilty of Murder, Aggravated Assault Family Violence, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony in connection to the November 23, 2022, death of Mario McCray.
On Thursday, March 6, 2025, Judge Jimmie Brown sentenced Tennille to life in prison with 25 years to serve.
The case was prosecuted by ADA Trevor Vanzant, Senior ADA Cania Brown-Gordon, and DA Office Investigators Renee Stewart-Lloyd and Miles O’Quinn. Victim Advocate LeeAnn Turner also assisted with the case.
The investigation was led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 3 and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities credited the combined efforts of law enforcement, prosecutors, and the jury for ensuring justice in the case.
