Developers Summit to Highlight Affordable Housing Incentives in Macon

Macon-Bibb County Affordable Housing Fund and the Land Bank Authority will host a Developers Summit on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Macon Mall Conference Room, located near the Board of Elections at 3661 Eisenhower Parkway. The event aims to connect nonprofit and for-profit agencies with the latest incentives and resources available for affordable housing development in Macon.

The summit will feature speakers from organizations including Macon-Bibb County, the Affordable Housing Fund, Land Bank Authority, Code Enforcement, Georgia Power, Planning & Zoning, HomeFirst, Macon Housing Authority, NewTown Macon, and Economic and Community Development. Topics will focus on innovative strategies and collaborative approaches to increasing affordable housing in the community.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with industry experts, network with peers, and explore funding opportunities for housing projects. Admission is free, but registration is required due to limited seating. More information and registration details are available at www.mbcahf.org/events.

To date, the Affordable Housing Fund has committed $2 million to leverage an additional $16 million for affordable housing in the Historic Pleasant Hill Neighborhood. It has also allocated $325,000 for a Habitat for Humanity loan, helping secure an additional $490,000 in funding for three single-family homes.

The Affordable Housing Fund was created with a $7.5 million investment from Macon-Bibb County through the American Rescue Plan Act. It serves as a matching fund to attract additional financial support for housing projects. Nearly $12 million has been invested by Macon-Bibb County to expand affordable housing efforts, in partnership with organizations such as NewTown Macon, Historic Macon Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, the Knight Foundation, and the Peyton Anderson Foundation.
