Man Fatally Stabbed, Woman Shot by Police in Hiram Domestic Dispute

UPDATE: The two people in this case have been identified as Daniele Latrice McDowell, age 38, of Hiram, GA, and her son, Khalil Malique Wigfall, 18, also of Hiram, GA.

A domestic dispute at the Columns Apartments on Bill Carruth Parkway in Hiram, GA (Paulding County), ended in two deaths after a woman fatally stabbed a man and was later shot by police on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at approximately 1:14 p.m., according to the Hiram Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of an aggravated assault where a female suspect was stabbing a male. Upon arrival, officers encountered the woman, who was armed with a knife. After less-lethal force options, including a Taser, failed, the woman advanced toward officers, prompting them to open fire.

The male victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Officers rendered aid to both individuals, but the female suspect was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital.

No officers were injured. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken over the case. Authorities are encouraging witnesses to contact the GBI at (706) 624-1424 with any information regarding the incident.
