Traffic Stop in Bibb County Leads to Arrest of Drug Dealer

A traffic stop for a seatbelt violation resulted in the arrest of a suspected narcotics dealer in Bibb County.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputy John Kile initiated a traffic stop on a Honda Accord driver on Houston Avenue for not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver was found to have an outstanding warrant for multiple narcotics violations, including trafficking cocaine.

During a search of the vehicle, Deputy Kile discovered a stolen handgun in the glove compartment. The gun was reported stolen in Bibb County.

The suspect, who was also driving with a suspended registration, was arrested and charged with:

  • Warrant regarding multiple narcotics violations (including trafficking cocaine)
  • Theft by receiving stolen property
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

The suspect was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.
