Man Arrested After Road Rage Shooting in Cartersville

At approximately 4:10 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025, Cartersville Police Department officers responded to a report of a road rage incident and a person shot in the vicinity of Hwy 113 and Euharlee Road.
Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle with a shattered window and a victim who had sustained facial lacerations from broken glass. The victim provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle, identified as a red sedan, which was relayed to surrounding law enforcement agencies.
Shortly after the alert was issued, Rockmart Police officers stopped a red late-model Tesla sedan driven by Malvin Ariel Fajardo-Perez. He was taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered a .45 caliber Glock pistol and a spent shell casing inside the vehicle.
Fajardo-Perez was charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Reckless Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, and Discharging a Firearm on a Roadway. He is currently being held at the Bartow County Jail pending a bond hearing.
