Arrest Made in December Aggravated Assault Case in Macon After Suspect Found Trespassing

On February 9, 2025, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies made an arrest in connection with an Aggravated Assault investigation from December 14, 2024. The incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Fort Hill Street, where two men, a 62-year-old and a 45-year-old, were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.

The investigation into the shooting led deputies to an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Mercer University Drive on February 9, 2025, after a report of trespassing. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that the suspect had active warrants for his arrest.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Steven Keywone Pettigrew of Macon, was wanted for two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the Fort Hill Street incident. Pettigrew was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. His bond has been denied.
