Man Arrested and Charged with Felony Murder in Barnesville Shooting
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested 42-year-old Jacob Benjamin Craft of Barnesville, GA, in connection with the fatal shooting of 55-year-old Willie Floyd Perdue on February 4, 2025. Craft faces charges of Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
At approximately 1:00 a.m. on February 4, Lamar County 911 received reports that Perdue had been shot multiple times on Warner Road in Barnesville. Perdue was initially taken to Upson Regional Hospital and later transferred to Atrium Navient in Macon, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Deputies at the scene determined that Craft had been driving erratically near Perdue’s residence. Perdue confronted Craft about his driving, prompting Craft to exit his vehicle and shoot Perdue. Craft was arrested and is currently held at the Lamar County Jail.
The investigation remains active.
