17-Year-Old Shot and Killed in Columbus on Buena Vista Road
Columbus Police Officers responded to a call at 5:25 p.m. on January 24, 2025, regarding the discovery of a deceased individual on the 6500 block of Buena Vista Road. Upon arrival, officers found 17-year-old Rashod Barrett, a Black male, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived shortly after and attempted to resuscitate Barrett, but he was pronounced dead at 6:06 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Allison.
