Teen Arrested for Attempted Auto Theft at Coastal Club Apartments in Glynn County

A 16-year-old male juvenile was arrested early Friday morning and charged with theft entering an automobile after being caught inside a parked vehicle at the Coastal Club Apartments.
At approximately 3 a.m., Officers Collin Rourke and Michael Kiser were patrolling the area when they observed the suspect inside the driver’s side of the vehicle. The juvenile, dressed in all-black clothing and wearing gloves, was immediately investigated by the officers.
Upon contacting the vehicle’s owner, it was determined that nothing had been stolen. However, the owner found a black ski mask in the vehicle, which was identified as belonging to the juvenile.
The suspect was interviewed, charged, and taken to Savannah’s Regional Youth Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Glynn County Police Department Non-Emergency at (912) 554-3645 or anonymously through Silent Witness at (912) 264-1333.
