Suspect Sought in Armed Robbery at Athens Drug Store

Athens-Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD) is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery on January 5, 2025, at approximately 11:13 AM. The robbery took place at a drug store located in the 700 block of Oglethorpe Avenue.

According to store staff, the suspect entered the business, approached a checkout counter, and displayed a handgun while demanding cash from the register drawer. The suspect, described as having an average build and height, fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

ACCPD detectives have released an image of the suspect, who was wearing a flannel shirt, a hoodie, and had his face concealed.
