Pedestrian Killed in Athens-Clarke County’s First Fatal Crash of 2025

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at approximately 7:14 AM, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian in the area of W. Broad Street and Old Epps Bridge Road.

Upon arrival, emergency medical services were performing life-saving measures on the 63-year-old male pedestrian. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver, a 21-year-old woman from Lawrenceville, Georgia, was not injured in the incident.

The accident marks the first fatal crash in Athens-Clarke County in 2025.
