Sheriff David Davis and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office have issued a list of safety tips to help ensure residents and their families enjoy a safe holiday season.

Shopping Safety

Stay alert in crowded areas and avoid overloading yourself with packages.
Shop with friends for added safety and be cautious of strangers approaching you.
Lock your vehicle and hide valuables in a trunk or compartment when parking.

Online Shopping Safety

Use secure websites with “https” in the URL and keep your devices updated with the latest security software.
Avoid making purchases on unsecured wireless networks.

Home Safety

Lock all entry points when leaving or staying home.
Keep gifts out of view from windows and set lights on timers to give the appearance of occupancy.

Package Safety

Have packages delivered to a workplace or a trusted person who can receive them.
Use doorbell cameras to monitor deliveries.

Travel Safety

Notify a trusted individual about your travel plans and have someone retrieve your mail and newspapers.
Check weather conditions before traveling and exercise caution while driving.
