Three Arrested in Connection with Over 100 Storage Unit Burglaries in Gwinnett County
Gwinnett County Police detectives have charged three individuals in relation to more than 100 burglaries at local storage units. The incidents occurred between December 4 and December 6, 2024, at a facility located at 2044 Old Norcross Road, where over 60 storage units were broken into.
Burglary detectives launched an investigation after multiple victims reported the thefts. Suspicious activity was flagged by Flock cameras, which captured a U-Haul truck in the vicinity. The renter of the vehicle, 21-year-old Shushune Arrington from Union City, matched the description of a suspect seen on security footage at the scene.
On December 10, officers responded to a call about a suspicious person at another storage unit facility at 4139 Five Forks Trickum Road. Officers located a U-Haul truck occupied by Arrington and 26-year-old Teshauna Lovett of Atlanta. While the two were arrested, a third suspect, 33-year-old Niquay Dexter from Atlanta, fled on foot before officers arrived.
The detectives determined that 55 storage units had been burglarized during this incident. Arrington and Lovett were charged with seven counts of second-degree burglary, and detectives have issued charges against Dexter, who remains at large.
In total, over $20,000 worth of stolen tools, including Dewalt equipment, were recovered and returned to the rightful owner. Authorities are encouraging anyone who believes they were a victim of these burglaries to contact the Gwinnett County Police Department.
