Bibb County Man Arrested for Murder in Log Cabin Drive Shooting
On December 13, 2024, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Gang Unit and U.S. Marshals, arrested twenty-four-year-old James Louis Chappell of Byron, GA, in connection with a deadly shooting on Log Cabin Drive. Chappell was taken into custody near the 100 Block of Arizona Avenue in Warner Robins. He faces a charge of Murder related to the December 8, 2024, shooting at Green Meadows Apartments in the 3800 block of Log Cabin Drive.
At approximately 1:51 a.m. on December 8, deputies responded to the scene of the shooting where they found 26-year-old Keshon Knolton, unresponsive from a gunshot wound. A second victim, a 17-year-old male, also sustained gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported both victims to a medical facility, where Knolton was later pronounced dead. The second victim was released from the hospital after receiving treatment.
Chappell was arrested and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center following his capture.
