Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Escaped Jail Trustee

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Jail Trustee Willie Barnes, who escaped custody moments ago. Barnes fled from a Correctional Officer while being escorted to the kitchen for his daily assignment.

Barnes is described as 5’11” tall, weighing approximately 155 pounds. He was booked into the Muscogee County Jail on a charge of Battery (Family Violence). Additionally, his bond was surrendered by a bonding company for prior charges of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Receipt, Possession, or Transfer of a Firearm.

Authorities urge anyone with information on Barnes’s whereabouts to call 911 or contact the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office at 706-225-4225. The public is advised not to approach or attempt to apprehend Barnes.
