Mother and Daughter Arrested After Kidnapping Two Children During Court-Ordered Visitation at Trampoline Park

The Gwinnett County Police Department arrested two women after a violent altercation and kidnapping occurred at a trampoline park on November 8. Authorities responded to a call from a DFCS employee at 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway, who reported that two women had assaulted her and taken two young children during a court-mandated visitation.

According to the DFCS employee, the incident began when Starlita Moore, the mother of the children, punched the employee in the face during the visitation. Starlita then grabbed the children and, with the help of her 19-year-old daughter, Teisha Schulters, forced the children into a Chrysler 300 in the parking lot.

As Teisha put the children in the car, Starlita continued to assault the DFCS employee. Once the assault was over, Starlita and Teisha fled the scene with the children. Investigators quickly responded to the scene and alerted local law enforcement across nearby jurisdictions. The Chrysler 300 was later located by Alabama State Patrol, who conducted a traffic stop and safely recovered both children.

Starlita Moore was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping, interstate interference with custody, battery, simple battery, and cruelty to children in the third degree. Teisha Schulters was charged with two counts of kidnapping and interstate interference with custody.

The children were returned to the custody of DFCS. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to contact Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5300, or to remain anonymous, submit tips to Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or via www.stopcrimeATL.com.
