Second Suspect Arrested in Double Churches Road Murder of 16-Year-Old in Columbus

On Thursday, October 17, 2024, Andrew Crowell was arrested in Henry County, Georgia, and extradited to Columbus. Crowell faces charges of Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

Crowell’s arrest marks the second in connection to the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Dayton Willis, which occurred on August 31, 2023, in the 2300 block of Double Churches Road. The first suspect, Akiraon Reed, was previously arrested and charged with Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 18.
