15-Year-Old Killed, Seven Others Injured in Shooting at Homecoming Afterparty at Elberton Nightclub
UPDATE: The GBI has arrested and charged Jarquavious Demetriun Scott, age 18, of Anderson, SC, with Felony Murder for the death of Bryshun Treviyus O’Brien Jordan, age 15, of Hartwell, Hart County, GA.
Scott was booked into the Anderson County Jail. He is awaiting extradition to Georgia.

The GBI and the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at the 7 Grand nightclub on Evergreen Drive in Elberton, GA, during a homecoming afterparty on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m. The Hart School District identified the juvenile victim as 15-year-old Bry’Shun Jordan.
Responding to reports of multiple people shot, the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office and Elbert County EMS rushed the victims to nearby hospitals for treatment. Among the injured, seven individuals ranged in age from 15 to 19, with the eighth victim being an adult.
“Our community’s heart is broken over the events of this past Saturday evening,” said Mayor Daniel Kyra Graves in a social media post. “It is proof of what we already knew, but don’t want to have to accept: our community is not immune from the terrible, senseless, and tragic events of our times.”
