DUI Arrest in Macon Following Traffic Violation and Field Sobriety Test

A deputy from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit, monitoring traffic at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Poplar Street in Macon, observed a Hyundai driving without headlights. The driver made an improper turn and struck a curb, flattening a tire.

After initiating a traffic stop, the deputy detected the smell of alcohol while speaking with the driver. The Georgia State Patrol was called in to conduct field sobriety testing. Following the assessment, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

She was subsequently transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center for processing.
