Dalton Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Man Who Stole Pickup Truck at Local Bakery

The Dalton Police Department is requesting assistance from the public to identify a man who stole a red 2000 Ford F-150 from the parking lot of Loa Bakery at 737 Riverbend Road on the morning of September 27th. Surveillance footage captured the suspect in the act.

The vehicle owner had parked the truck and entered the bakery, leaving the keys in the ignition and the doors unlocked. During the five minutes the victim was inside, the suspect, described as a white male wearing a black t-shirt, khaki pants, and carrying a red backpack, approached the truck, entered it, and drove off.

The stolen vehicle was recovered later that same day, parked on Glenwood Avenue. The truck was processed for evidence and returned to the owner, who reported that nothing appeared to be missing.

Police also obtained footage of the suspect walking along Riverbend Road prior to the theft. He is described as having curly brown hair. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Detective Ben Ridley at 706-278-9085, extension 9-122.
