South Carolina Man Sentenced for Shipping Over 4,500 Fentanyl-Laced Pills to North Georgia
Onesepherous L. Grissette, 43, of Conway, South Carolina, has been sentenced to five years and 10 months in federal prison for shipping thousands of counterfeit pills containing fentanyl from South Carolina to North Georgia using the U.S. Mail. Grissette was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance after pleading guilty in June 2024.
Investigators with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service seized a shipment in July 2022 that was mailed to Chickamauga, Georgia. Testing confirmed the pills, which resembled oxycodone, contained fentanyl. Grissette had shipped over 4,500 pills for nearly two years, receiving approximately $85,000.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service with assistance from the Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force and the Horry County Sheriff’s Office. Grissette’s sentence includes 10 years of supervised release following his prison term.
