On September 26, 2024, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Clayton County Police officers were dispatched to Flint Trail in Jonesboro, Georgia, in response to a residential alarm, which was later upgraded to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who reported that a suspect had left a flashlight inside the residence and provided a list of stolen items.

While one officer investigated the scene, other officers responded to a nearby location on Primrose Lane due to a suspicious person call. The suspect was described as a Black male wearing a hoodie and carrying a black duffle bag. Officers canvassed the area and located the suspect, identified as Latrone Taylor.
