Man Fatally Shot on Peachtree Center Avenue in Atlanta

At approximately 6:01 a.m. on September 22, 2024, Atlanta Police officers were dispatched to 285 Peachtree Center Avenue NE in response to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 48-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the life-saving efforts of medical personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.

UPDATE: On September 25, 2024, members of the Atlanta Police Department’s Zone 5 Crime Suppression Unit took 33-year-old Tamyone Johnson into custody. Johnson was charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Felony.
