Man Shot in Dispute at Brookside Park Apartment Homes, 20-Year-Old Suspect Arrested

At approximately 12:53 a.m. on July 18, 2024, officers from Atlanta Police Zone 1 were dispatched to a report of a shooting at 565 Saint Johns Ave. SW, Brookside Park Apartment Homes. Upon arrival, they found a 55-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance and is in stable condition.

Officers detained a 20-year-old suspect, Zachary Hosch, at the scene. Preliminary investigation reveals that the shooting resulted from a verbal dispute between the victim and the suspect that escalated into gunfire.

Hosch has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
