Stolen Vehicle Chase Ends in Arrest, Child Rescued in Bibb County

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) deputies, responding to a Flock camera alert about a stolen vehicle near Pio Nono Avenue and Mercer University Drive, located the Cadillac on Poppy Avenue. The driver fled at high speed but was found by deputies parked behind a church on Stephens Street.

The suspect abandoned the vehicle and ran into the woods, leaving his three-year-old child inside. Deputies arrested the suspect, and EMS checked the toddler at the scene before releasing the child to a family member. The driver was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center without further incident.
