Drug Bust Leads to Multiple Charges for Cordele Man
On May 31, 2024, the Crisp County Special Response Team (SRT) and the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force conducted a search at 607 W. 23rd Ave. Apt B, Cordele, Georgia. The operation yielded a significant discovery of suspected narcotics and related paraphernalia.
Authorities uncovered a stash that included clear plastic bags containing suspected Marijuana packaged for distribution, several clear plastic baggies with Oxycodone also packaged for distribution, a clear plastic baggie with multi-colored pills, a clear plastic baggie containing an off-white substance consistent with suspected Methamphetamine, digital scales with residue, and additional packaging materials.
The Mid-South Narcotics Task Force conducted presumptive tests on the substances, confirming the presence of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Facing a barrage of charges is Trevor Donta Green, a 39-year-old resident of Cordele, Georgia. Green’s charges include trafficking Fentanyl, trafficking Fentanyl within 1000 feet of a housing project, school, and park, possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute within similar proximity boundaries, as well as possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
Authorities seized the narcotics and related items as evidence, emphasizing the dangers associated with Fentanyl use. They reiterated a warning that even small amounts of Fentanyl can be lethal. With a lethal potential of just two milligrams, the authorities emphasized the importance of education and collaboration to combat the spread of this dangerous substance.
In line with this, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office initiated a Fentanyl Awareness Campaign in May 2022, aiming to educate and inform the public about the lethal risks associated with Fentanyl.
The Mid-South Narcotics Task Force (MSNTF) actively pursues and prosecutes individuals and groups involved in the illegal drug trade within its jurisdictional boundaries, with the support of the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office serving as the lead agency.
The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT), comprising members from various sheriff’s offices, was instrumental in executing the operation.
