Investigation Links Two Shootings in Cartersville, Resulting in Multiple Arrests
Cartersville Police Officers initiated an investigation into a shooting at Lee Street and Walker Street on April 23, 2024, resulting in three arrests.
Later, on May 12, officers responded to shots fired on Stokley Street, recovering shell casings and a vehicle with bullet damage. The driver and passenger sustained minor injuries.
Investigators, aided by the G.B.I., linked the two shootings. Seven adults and one juvenile were charged for their involvement in both incidents. Deon Shaquille Burton, Jesus Deshawn Williams, Jeremiah Keith Lambert, Joseph Kennemore, Zakavious Slocum, and Jaylen Reece Sisson face two counts of Aggravated Assault. Naudia Renee Carter was charged with Hindering Apprehension or Punishment of Criminal.
All are held at Bartow County Jail awaiting bond hearings. Assistance was provided by Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force, and U.S. Marshals Service.
