Macon County Man Arrested for Child Abuse

The GBI has arrested and charged 32-year-old Edvardo P. Johnson of Oglethorpe, GA, with two counts of Cruelty to Children, two counts of Reckless Conduct, and two counts of Furnishing Alcohol to a Person Under the Age of 21. On Tuesday May 6th, the Montezuma Police Department and the Macon County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI to assist with a child abuse investigation.  

The investigation shows that Johnson forced two female minors to drink alcohol until they became sick. The minors told their parents what happened which led to a forensic interview. 

Johnson was booked into the Sumter County Jail who houses inmates for Macon County.

Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.
