Attempted Robbery in Downtown Atlanta Turns Fatal: Victim Killed in Exchange of Gunfire
On May 20th, 2024, at approximately 11:30 pm, Atlanta Police officers rushed to 253 Auburn Ave NE in Downtown Atlanta after receiving reports of gunfire and people injured. When they arrived, they found four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of them was pronounced dead by EMS services.
Homicide investigators quickly mobilized to the scene to start their investigation. According to preliminary findings, the shooting seems to be linked to an entering auto incident. It appears that the victim was shot during the incident and attempted to defend themselves by returning fire.
As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are actively pursuing leads to uncover more details surrounding the incident.
