Missing Woman Case in Clayton County is Now a Homicide Investigation

The Clayton County Police Department has provided an update regarding the disappearance of Briana Winston, who was reported missing on April 1, 2024, by her family members.

Winston’s family became concerned after discovering her apartment had been emptied by her live-in boyfriend and father of her child, Michale Edwards. Upon further investigation, they found that Winston had not shown up for work on March 17, 2024, despite being scheduled.

The circumstances surrounding Winston’s disappearance raised suspicions, prompting the Clayton County Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division to take over the case. Detectives believe Winston went missing during the early hours of March 17, 2024, and suspect foul play, indicating she may have been incapacitated in some manner.

Despite extensive efforts, Winston has not been located. Evidence suggests she is deceased and investigators are treating the case as a homicide investigation. Michale Edwards and his wife, Brienna Phillips-Edwards, are persons of interest in Winston’s disappearance.
